This research evaluates the global health and economic consequence of climate change and mitigation on hidden hunger (micronutrient deficiency) and provides complementary policies to alleviate its adverse effects for the achievement of multiple sustainable development goals.
In the first year, I will focus on the literature survey, numerical modeling. Explicitly, I will construct a model to estimate the prevalence of micronutrient deficiency and a model to evaluate the health and economic costs. I will use the research fund to purchase computers, software, and data for modeling analysis.
In the second year, I will devote to the simulation experiments which aim to answer the first two research questions (the effects of climate change impact and mitigation policy). In specific, I will design various scenarios with different combinations of climate change impact (atmospheric CO2 concentration) and mitigation policy. Meanwhile, I will use the research fund to participate in academic conferences and meet other researches for exchanging ideas. I will also use the research fund to publish scientific articles in international journals.
In the third year, I will try to answer the third research question (explore the supplementary policies) by simulating the effects of various food policies. I will use the research budget to publish papers and attend domestic and international conferences
to present the research output.
The tasks for this year include literature survey, data collection and health model construction.
