Environmental Epidemiology Section
Outline of Research

The Environmental Epidemiology Section conducts epidemiological surveys and other research to clarify the effects of environmental pollutants and environmental factors on health and provides knowledge that contributes to health impact assessments and health hazard prevention policies. We are also developing and upgrading epidemiological research methods. Specifically, in addition to promoting JECS, we are investigating the relationship between exposure to air pollution and health effects, the critical period of health-promoting factors in life-course epidemiology, and the interaction between humans and animals, and epidemiologically studying global health related to food and health in developing countries.
