This program conducts research on regional evaluation methods and indicators, scenario development, and changes in values and lifestyles in order to realize a sustainable society.
Specifically, the program identifies regional issues in collaboration with regional stakeholders, such as local governments and local residents, for realizing a sustainable society. Next, based on knowledge from the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, we will develop measures for the realization of a co-creative and sustainable local society, and consider how to support the implementation of these measures.
Through these efforts, we will collaborate with local governments and other stakeholders to develop co-creative measures to solve problems for the realization of a sustainable local society based on scientific knowledge, targeting local communities in Japan. In addition, we aim to provide support for establishing a feasible system in local communities. As a result, we will promote the realization of a sustainable society in the region.
