- Dr. Guochang Xu received his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Kyoto University, M.Sc. in Industrial Ecology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and B.Sc. in Agriculture from Sichuan Agricultural University. He previously conducted postdoctoral research at the School of Environment, Tsinghua University.
He currently serves as an Executive Council Member of the International Association of Natural Resources (iAONR), a Committee Member of the Circular Economy Branch of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, a Think Tank Expert of the Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific (BCRC), an Editorial Board Member of Scientific Reports and Scientific Reviews, a Young Editorial Board Member of The Innovation Geoscience and Chinese Journal of Environmental Engineering, and a Guest Editor for Resources, Conservation and Recycling and Resources, Conservation & Recycling Advances. He also serves as a reviewer for leading journals, including Environmental Science & Technology and Environmental Impact Assessment Review.
He has led several competitive research projects, including one NIES Internal Competitive Research Proposal B project, one NIES Young Researcher Fund project, and one China Postdoctoral Science Foundation project. In 2026, he received the Young Scholar Paper Award (First Prize) from the International Association of Natural Resources (iAONR).
