Beauchampiella

Beauchampiella Remane, 1929

ref. ID; 1923

Lorica pear-shaped, dorsum bulging. Trophi malleate. One species, body length 540 um. Ponds, very rare species. Formerly placed in Scaridium to which it has only a superficial resemblance. Named Eudactylota by Manfredi, but this name was preoccupied (Gallagher 1957). Remane (1929) used Beauchampiella for this in his text, but retained Eudactylota in the formal statement of classification. It would appear that Beauchampiella should be used rather than Manfredium (Gallagher). (ref. ID; 1923)
