EPA medium (EPA, 1985)
Medium composition; NaHCO3 96 mg, CaSO4/2H2O (or CaSO4) 60 mg, MgSO4 60 mg, KCl 4 mg in deionized water 1L. Deionized base water was obtained from a Barnstead NANOpure II system with one pretreatment, one high-capacity, and two ultrapure cartridges. pH 7.5

OECD artificial soil (OECD Guideline No. 207) (OECD, 1984)
Soil composition;
1. 10% < 0.5 mm ground sphagnum peat, 20% kaolin clay, 69% fine sand, 1% calcium carbonate (by dry weight)
2. 70% sand, 20% kaolin clay, 10% organic matter (as Sphagnum peat) (by dry weight), pH 6.0 +/- 0.5 (prepared by powdered calcium carbonate)
