Several species have been described.
Jankowski (1979) created a new genus Pescozoon for T. (Balladyna) euplotes (Dragesco, 1960) Borror, 1972. He also noted that the correct and original spelling is Trichototaxis not Trichotaxis as is commonly used. Borror (1979) submerged the genus in Keronopsis.
