[ref. ID; 2013]
Elongate, rather cylindrical body attached by adoral end to crustacea. There is an anterior pre-oral funnel which is ciliated on the inner surface, with a spiral-like portion which has few (2 to 3) whorls. The funnel is generally the widest part of the body and it narrows to a short neck region before joining the rest of the cell. There are no somatic cilia. The ventral wall of the pre-oral (rim of the outer whorl) is without folds or notches so that the margin is smooth and there is a single continuous ledge-like rim to the whorl. These features serve to distinguish the genus from Cavichona and Serpentichona. The macronucleus is rounded and reproduction is by exogenous budding.
