Body an inverted conical shape without a lorica but within a thick resistant pellicle. Zooid borne upon a long longitudinally striated stalk. Capitate tentacles arranged in 5 fascicles, 4 situated apically and 1 encircling the stalk base. 2 anterior contractile vacuoles. The macronucleus is ovoid or cylindrical and rounded embryos are produced endogenously. Single species genus found in Mexico. The organisms was found as an epibiont of the peritrich Epistlyis plicatilis which itself was epibiontic on shells of the molluscs Limnaea and Physa. Most easily confused with Acineta and Tokophrya.
