1.Overview
The 13th Tripartite Presidents Meeting (TPM13) among the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES; Japan), the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER; Korea), and the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES; China) will be held in Kunming, China from November 1 (Tuesday) to November 3 (Thursday), 2016.
The TPM is an annual meeting which has been held since 2004 with the objective of furthering environmental research in Japan, Korea, and China through efforts among NIES, NIER, and CRAES, the leading environmental research institutions in their respective countries. An International Workshop (IWS) will also be held as part of the TPM13 program on November 2 (Wednesday), 2016. The theme of the IWS at TPM13 is “Water Pollution Control Technologies and Ecosystem Health”.

Agenda: Information exchange and discussion on progress and means for tripartite development of joint research activities and collaboration, followed by the drafting of a Joint Communiqué to reflect commitments on the following day.

4.TPM13 International Workshop
Every year at TPM an International Workshop on an annually designated theme is held to facilitate information exchange and further research collaboration among the three countries from the perspective of environmental issues in East Asia. In addition to the three Presidents and the researchers affiliated with the three institutions, researchers from the US, Mongolia, and Yunnan Province, China will come together to present and discuss on the chosen topic.
