Research Program for the Comprehensive Assessment and Solutions of Emerging Human and Ecosystem Threats from Cross Media Environmental Pollution
Cross-Media Environmental Pollution Assessment and Solutions Research Program (PG3)
As one of the three major cross-cutting research programs at NIES, this initiative seeks to characterize, understand, and develop solutions for three major environmental pollution challenges affecting people and ecosystems: PFAS, plastics, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Through innovative research on cross-media environmental contamination in air, water, soil, and other environmental compartments, the program takes an integrated approach linking pollution sources, environmental fate and transport, impacts on humans and ecosystems, and policy development.
