Calculation method
|
Global soil NOx emissions were simulated using the VISIT terrestrial biogeochemical model (0.5° resolution) following the NMIP2 protocol for 1850–2020. The model incorporated climate forcing (CRU-JRA v2.2), land-use change (LUH2), atmospheric CO2, nitrogen deposition (CCMI), and anthropogenic nitrogen inputs from the HaNi dataset (fertilizer and manure). Soil NO emissions from nitrification and denitrification were calculated using the Parton et al. (2001) scheme, coupled with canopy reduction factors to estimate above-canopy fluxes.
