The morphology and ultrastructure of a fresh water amoeba, which we include in the genus Vexillifera as a new species, are described. The most distinctive characters are the presence of intracytoplasmic crystalline inclusions and of a glycocalyx with small glycostyles arranged in a regular fashion.
