Notes

Two small euglyphid testate rhizopod species (Corythion dubium and Euglypha rotunda) of maritime Antarctic provenance were isolated and cultured monoxenically with an indigenous strain of Pseudomonas fluorescens as bacterial food. The initial experimental trials with various amoeba culture media, microbial food types and subculture methods are described, together with observations on test morphology, feeding and reproduction of cultured specimens and the presence of unusual aberrant forms of C. dubium in culture.
