Notes

The morphology of the Ciliate Leptopharynx is redescribed for L. macrostoma sp. n. and L. costatus Mermod. This study shows the ciliate possesses 3 adoral ciliary organelles, instead of 2 as it has been always mentioned, and 3 postoral short ciliary rows. Particular attention is placed on morphogenetic processes. Stomatogenic role of kinety number one, as well as of two of the postoral ciliary rows is demonstrated.
