Notes

Helicotylenchus amplius n. sp., a parthenogenetic plant-parasitic spiral nematode in Canada, is described and illustrated. The distinguishing characters are a thick, digitate ventral projection with a terminal mucro, fine annulations on the tail end and open-ended lateral field, a conical head, stylet length of 26-29 µm, and a deep vulval atrium and large uterus which occupies most of the body width. A key is provided to aid in the identification of the Canadian species of Helicotylenchus Steiner, 1945.
