In this work we analyze a group of Trachelomonas collected from the Chunam Reservoir, in Changwon city, Keung Nam Province, South Korea, by using light, scanning and EDAX scanning microscope. These organisms are characterized by a variable development of the ornamentation, which we considered to be related to the mineral contents degrees of their envelops. On the basis of our results and the comparison with other described taxa, we consider that the observed specimens correspond to different morphological patterns of Trachelomonas spirillifera Schkorb.
