The ciliate fauna of three Eifel maar lakes was investigated during May 1987 to June 1988. A total of 96 species were found in the plankton and the aufwuchs. Morphology and infraciliature of 10 species -Paradileptus caducus, Askenasia volvox, Pseudochilodonopsis labiata, Stokesia vernalis, Marituja pelagica, Vorticella natans, Condylostoma vorticella, Stentor multiformis, Strobilidium velox, Strongylidium mucicola- are described in detail.
