Notes

We describe a technique allowing us to isolated the cuticles of Caenorhabditis elegans. The good condition of purification is verified by electron microscopy. The amino acid composition of the cuticular collagen, compared with that of Ascaris lumbricoides, shows two important differences only: the first one is the ratio hydroxyproline/proline which is 0.47 for C. elegans but only 0.065 for A. lumbricoides; the second one is the alanine which is near by twice as much for C. elegans.
