Notes

Brachionus nilsoni Ahlstrom was found in a steppe pond which lacked any connection with a river, in Mountainous-Balykleevsk district, Stalingrad region and in the Far-East, in lakes situated along the lower stream of the Amur, and in the rivers Sungari and Hulang-che of China. Brachionus bennini (Leissling) was thus far found in the USSR only in rivers. It was found by the author, apart from its occurrence in the rivers Klyazma and Amur, in steppe ponds of Olkhovsk district, Stalingrad district. This rotifer is also revealed in the rivers Sungari and Hulang-che of China. Notes on the systematics of both species are presented.
