The morphology, infraciliature, and ecology of 9 species of the ciliate family Chilodonellidae were investigated. Two new species, Thigmogaster potamophilus nov, spec. and Pseudochilodonopsis fluviatilis nov. spec., and some new combinations and synonyms are described. The descriptions and redescriptions base on protargol silver stained and biometrically analyzed populations.
