Notes

The pattern of diurnal migration in three species of rotifers has been studied from six 24-hr samples obtained in different months to cover a wide range of seasonal conditions. Velocities and amplitude of vertical migration were calculated for the three species. The same species can show nocturnal upward migration at one season and the reverse at another. There are differences in vertical movements during ice cover. There is some indication that different species exhibit diurnal migration keeping different zonation.
