A new species of Brachionus, B. josefinae n. sp., is described from a temporary pool in the State of Aguascalientes, Mexico. The n. sp. belongs to the group of B. urceolaris, and is diagnosed by its lorica being stiff only anteriorly, and by its relatively long and broad foot.
