Notes

Metafolliculina andrewsi is a characteristic representative of the folliculinids. The species is characterised by a long-necked, spiralized dwelling-case, an unusual capacity of extension, and extremely long peristome labes. The film demonstrates the essential phases of life-cycle of this species: Behaviour with in a settlement-unit, food intake, unequal cell-division with constriction of the swarmer, the attachment and construction of a new dwelling case in different settings.
