Notes

The connections among Testacea and soil are numerous. We can quoted the morphologic adaptations: size, shape, pseudostome and so on... but also the very narrow dependency of peopling toward any physical and chemical edaphic conditions such as the pH, the C/N, the pF and so on. If into forest mors, we find out the most plentiful and common fauna, into calcareous soils, we find out the most characteristic and exclusive fauna. We have been studying population densities, during one year, into three forest mors in order to prove the influence of special edaphic conditions on nearly the same peoplings. Further these conditions above exposed which are acting on the structure of peopling and on the dynamic of the populations, we have clearly shown the relations between Testacea and moisture, soil temperature, level of sheet, and evaporation.
