Notes

Observations have been made on the Rhizopoda Testacea of fertilized forest soils in the Belgian Ardennes. The variations of the populations were qualitative and quantitative. From a qualitative point of view, the fertilized plots lost chiefly species of the muscicolous group. Species of the terricolous group appeard in the plots fertilized by means of potassic basic-slag, with or without urea. From a quantitative point of view, plots fertilized by means of urea alone, lost about two-thirds of their biomass of Rhizopoda Testacea, whereas the biomass was doubled in the plots fertilized by means of urea+potassic basic-slag.
