Notes

Aeolosoma maritimum dubiosum nov. ssp. is described from the zone of damp sand in the intertidal of some islands of the Galapagos archipelago. It differs from the nominate taxon, known from the Mediterranean and from the Atlantic coast of France, in a few small morphological characters. Considering the vast geographical separation of the two forms, these differences appear sufficient for the establishment of the new subspecies. The latter closely agrees with the nominate form in its distribution within the intertidal.
