Notes

Some 25 species of ciliated protozoa have been identified from cores of Matador grassland soils from southern Saskatchewan, Canada. These edaphic organisms represent both microphagous (generally bactivorous) and macrophagous (carnivorous on other ciliates and amoebae) forms. Four of the species have been found only in this particular soil.
