Little has histerto been known of the rotifer fauna of the South Pacific Islands, and this paper lists twenty-nine species collected from this area and from Northern Australia. It is suggested that some specimens of the genus Lecane which have been described as new species or varieties are merely partly contracted animals referable to well known species.
