Notes

In an oak and a spruce plantation it was shown that the influence of depth on Thecamoebae populations is not qualitative but only quantitative. The correlation between the population of the litter and the humus was not significant in either habitat. The influence of depth is predominantly on the nature of the substrate (leaf or needle litter). The density of species of Thecamoebae was greater in the litter than in the underlying soil.
