Two series of experiments were carried out to determine the relation of the rate of phosphorus and nitrogen excretion by the planktonic rotifers to ambient temperature and individual body weights of these animals. The following formulas describing this relation were obtained: EP=0.0154W-1.27e0.096T EN=0.0879W-1.01e0.088T where EP and EN denote the rate of P and N excretion, respectively, in ug/mg dry wt.hr., W is body weight in ug dry weight, and T is temperature in degrees C.
