Order Dorilaimida: Family Dorylaimidae (ref. ID; 6862)

Family Dorylaimidae (ref. ID; 6740)
  1. Epidorylaimus lugdunensis (de Man, 1880) Andrassy, 1986 (ref. ID; 7909)

Epidorylaimus rivalis Gagarin, 1991 (ref. ID; 7909 original paper)

Diagnosis

Species is closest to Epidorylaimus lugdunensis (de Man, 1880) Andrassy, 1986, but is larger (E. lugdunensis: female, L=0.6-1.1 mm), tail relatively shorter (E. lugdunensis: female, c=7-11), and the spear is longer (in E. lugdunensis, its length is approximately equal to head diameter). (ref. ID; 7909)

Descriptions

Nematodes of average size. Cuticle smooth. Head separated from body contour by visible constriction. Head with 15. Lips deep, triangular; labial papillae protrude sharply, high. Length of spear 28-30 µm, which is 1.8-2.0 times greater than head diameter. Opening takes up one-third to one-fourth the length of the spear. Leading ring simple, ordinary. Esophagus proportionate, muscular. Male length of esophagus in females 487 µm, in males 470 µm. Length of rectum approximately equal to anal diameter to body. Length of the prerectum in females 2.4-5.5 times greater than anal diameter. Tail in both sexes of same shape, hook-shaped, ventrally recurved, tip pointed. Mean length of tail in females 116 µm, in males 102 µm. Length of spicule 48-54 µm. Supplements number 9-13. Precloacal space absent. (ref. ID; 7909)
