Descriptions

Subspherical; epicone dome-shaped; hypocone broadly rounded; annulus straight or displaced; flagella long, up to twice the body length; five to nine chromatophores spherical or subspherical, but in some many and clavate; pyriform nucleus apical; stigma brown red, V- or U-shaped; numerous starch grains; cysts spherical or subspherical; body wall reticulated; fresh water.
