Two types of bristles were found. The helmet and serrated bristles, the simple serrated bristle without helmet tip. (ref. ID; 4822)

Remarks

A scale with two proximal big holes surrounded by numerous small holes. More than one big hole is a feature characteristic of M. matvienkoae var. grandis Durrschmidt & Cronberbg (1989). However, that variety is described with very large scales, 8-9x5-5.5 um, whereas the present material is only 4.5x3 um, i.e. similar in size to var. mativenkoae. Thus there are transitions between these two varieties. (ref. ID; 7657)
