Hyalophacus candidus Hada, 1966 (ref. ID; 3496 original paper)

Descriptions

The colorless specimen of the Euglenidae having no chromatophore was detected in the Sphagnum colony taken from the swamp lying on the lake-side. Its shape is almost similar to one of Phacus excepting absence of a chromatophore. It holds a number of longitudinal striae on the surface and a rather large reservoir, a single rounded paramylum particle and few minute rod-shaped granules in the body. The caudal process is short and slightly curved. (ref. ID; 3496)

Comments

The new species differs in having no eye-spot from H. ocellatus Pringsheim which has been a single published species of the genus Hyalophacus. (ref. ID; 3496)
