Body spheroidal; ectoplasm and endoplasm well differentiated; endoplasm often green-colored due to the presence of green spherules; numerous vesicular nuclei; one to two contractile vacuoles; secretion of an envelope around the body is followed by multiplication into numerous secondary cysts; cyst wall cellulose; in sphagnum swamp. Descriptions

Rounded or ovoid; cytoplasm colored; when moving, elongate with extremely fine pseudopodia which are straight or slightly curved and which are capable of movement from side to side; non-contractile vacuoles at bases of grouped pseuodopods; in active individual there is a constant movement of minute fusiform bodies (function?); fresh water among vegetation. Measurements

About 50 um in diameter; when extended 100-150 um long; total length 300 um or more. (ref. ID; 1618)
