Class Oligohymenophora: Subclass Hymenostomata: Order Hymenostomatida (ref. ID; 2014)

[ref. ID; 2014]
Medium-sized (80-100 um long) asymmetrically reniform ciliate rather similar to the shape of Colpoda. Oral aperture situated obliquely in depression in anterior body half. Furrow-like depression spirals down anterior body half. There is a pre-oral suture that is inclined to the animal's left and is continued by the spiral post-oral suture which is hooked at the posterior end of the cell. Buccal ciliation similar to that of Frontonia. Somatic cilia spiral following general body torsion. Several contractile vacuoles. Macronucleus sausage-shaped. Many trichocysts present. Single species genus recently transferred (Jankowski 1967) to this generic name.
