Spherical body without lorica and stalk, floating free on the water or attached by its tentacles to other organisms. Tentacle not in fascicles but distributed evenly over entire body surface. Macronucleus round and there is a single contractile vacuole. There are several species, some are free-living but some are parasites. Reproduction is binary fission or by exogenous budding.

Descriptions

Mature stage without cilia; numerous suctorial tentacles all over the body; macronucleus ellipsoid. Asexual reproduction by exogenous budding; free-swimming larvae with cilia. (ref. ID; 1219)
Spherical; numerous tentacles about one-fourth to one-third the body diameter; a contractile vacuole; nucleus oval; sapropelic. (ref. ID; 1618)
