Elongate or irregularly spherical body without lorica, rounded apically but flattened terminally near the stalk. A single long (500 um when extended) high retractile (50 um when contracted) tentacle emerges from the anterior end although other tentacles under development or being resorbed may also be present. Body attached to the freshwater crustacean (Cyclops) by a short (4 um long) stalk. Macronucleus rounded, reproduction by rapid or multiple endogenous budding to produce barrel-shaped swarmers.
