Solitary. Inverted bell-shaped zooid mounted upon unbranched non-contractile stalk and peristome without a lip. Some authorities consider the genus to be synonymous with Opercularia, a colonial genus. Most easily mistaken for Rhabdostyla which has a definite lip to the peristome.
