Penardiella Kahl, 1930 (ref. ID; 2013)

Class Kinetofragminophora: Subclass Gymnostomata: Order Haptorida: Family Spathidiidae (ref. ID; 2013)

[ref. ID; 2013]
Body outline shape oval, laterally flattened. Anterior region slightly truncated. Prominent unciliated ridge travels around complete body edges (but sometimes does not extend completely up the dorsal edge) but never spirals around the body. Oral aperture situated towards dorsal edge on apical part of ridge, supported by trichites. Trichocysts line the body ridge. Cilia uniformly distributed over cell. Macronucleus elongate, ribbon-like or ovoid. Single terminal contractile vacuole. Genus erected by Kahl (1930) for Legendrea interrupta Penard, 1922 and Legendrea crassa Penard, 1922.
