Descriptions
Cyst: The cysts had a very characteristic flask shape, with the aperture closed by a hyaline plug. Light microscopy revealed a colourless, transparent cyst wall which enclosed the cytoplasm of granular structure, without visible organelles. The cyst surface was colonized by bacteria. SEM micrographs show the cyst wall to be ornamented with spines, which were 3 to 4 um long and ~0.2 um wide and were anchored on the surface with fine fibres. (ref. ID; 1888)
Measurements
Cyst: Live cyst were 66+/-3 um long and 42+/-1 um wide. (ref. ID; 1888)
