Shape highly symmetrical, oblong in outline with rounded ends. Round in cross-section. Uniformly ciliated in 15-18 ciliary rows on each side. There is an oval apical vestibular aperture opening into a large oblong vestibulum which contains a fine sinusoidal flap or flange. Macronucleus in several parts. Found on one occasion in a stagnant pool in a cave (Romania).
