The body is irregular in outline, lumpy, of a grey-yellow color (100 um in diameter) and enclosed within a very transparent mucous coat (130 um in diameter). There is neither stalk nor other point of attachment and the animal is completely pelagic. The capitate tentacles arise irregularly form all over the body surface. Macronucleus rounded. Cyst is a characteristic parachute shape. This is a single species genus originally found in Lake Baikal.
