Class Polyhymenophora: Subclass Spirotricha: Order Heterotrichida: Suborder Armophorina (ref. ID; 2014)

Body small, irregularly pyriform without somatic cilia. Anterior region bears 2 long thick cirri and the posterior region of the body has a spine-like extension and a very long needle-like spine which arises sub-equatorially. AZM sub-equatorial and spiraling beneath the perizonal ciliary stripe. Single macronucleus with adjacent micronucleus. Sapropelic. Most easily confused with Caenomorpha and Cirranter both of which have 1 or 2 rows of anterior cirri. The latter genus does not possess posterior spines. Single species genus originally described from Geneva.
