Body shape approximately elongated oval in outline with tail-like process in posterior and with truncated anterior region. The apex slants slightly from left to right and bears the slit-like oral aperture. The animal has several extensible processes on the body edges which contain trichocysts. There is one process in either side of the apex, several down the ventral edge, one forms the tail and there are two on the posterior part of the dorsal edge. The macronucleus is sausage-shaped and the single contractile vacuole lies in the posterior body third. Genus erected by Jankowski (1967) for Legendrea pespelicani Penard, 1922.
