Class Kinetofragminophora: Subclass Vestibulifera: Order Colpodida (ref. ID; 2013)

[ref. ID; 2013]
Body shape approximately oval in outline, quite large (250 um long). There is a well-developed anterior ciliated oral field on the ventral surface which occupies the majority of the anterior half of the body. The depression is shallow at the edges and deepens towards the cytostome which lies approximately in the middle of the ventral surface. The body is uniformly ciliated with many longitudinal/oblique rows which originate at a curved preoral suture on the left of the vestibular opening. Division takes place within a cyst. Macronucleus in several parts, and there are several micronuclei. Single posterior contractile vacuole situated on left of vestibular opening.
