Small (about 30 um long) elongate to ovoid ciliate with a depression on the posterior body third. The peristome region extends over almost the complete cell length although the undulating membrane and membranelles M2 and M3 are sub-equatorial. Membranelle M1 is small and lies in the anterior region of the peristome about a quarter of the way down the cell and is remote from the other buccal ciliature. Membranelles M2 and M3 lies close together near the anterior end of the undulating membrane which is bow-shaped. Somatic ciliation is composed of 11-13 kineties, the apical end is unciliated as is the terminal pole except for the presence of a caudal cilium. There is a small unciliated region in the posterior quarter of the body on the left ventral surface while the kinety to the immediate right of the undulating membrane bears closely packed cilia at the posterior end. Contractile vacuole terminal. There are 1 or 2 spherical macronuclei that are centrally located. Single species genus.
