Flexible, elongate oval body, dorso-ventrally flattened. Distinct marginal cirri are absent but the ventral surface is densely packed with numerous rows of ventral cirri. Transverse cirri absent. Dorsal cirri is finely ciliated. Peristome region moderate, extending about a third of the body length where the contractile vacuoles are located. Many macronuclei. A few species have been described. Borror (1972) considers this genus to be a variant of Urostyla.
