Body shape asymmetrical but approximately pyriform in outline with posterior narrower than anterior. Body uniformly ciliated in longitudinal/oblique rows. Vestibular opening oval, in body equator. There is a bundle of gelatinous fibres at the posterior end of the cell by which it attaches itself to a substratum. There is also a strong bristle present at the posterior which is held to one side. Several contractile vacuoles distributed over body. Spherical macronucleus in anterior of body. Description based on single record in soil in Italy (Grandori and Grandori, 1934).
